Kaylee was doing much better today, after a day on an IV to get rehydrated. It's amazing what fluids can do for you! Drink up, folks!
Tonight and tomorrow nights are mine with her here at the hospital. She's settled in for the night, I hope, and I'll get comfy in my little bed in a few minutes. We had fun this evening making bracelets - Jimmy & I ran by Hobby Lobby on our way to the hospital today & picked up beads & cord. Jimmy will come in the morning, hopefully in time for me to run down for breakfast, then, when Brenda comes in around noon, after getting Ryan to 1st day of school & working a bit, we'll take a break from the hospital for a while & be back around 4 for Brenda & David to go to a meeting. (Oops... I just remembered that Jimmy probably needs to be at the house when Ryan gets off the school bus a bit after 4:00, so I guess he'll have to drop me back here earlier.) I'm planning to spend tomorrow night here, so we should get a LOT of bracelets or toilet tissue flowers made! (I showed Kaylee how to make the flowers last night & she was giving them to nurses this afternoon. We may not be so generous with the bracelets)
It looks like Kaylee will be in the hospital for 2-3 days, at least. They're trying to get her feed rate up to 100 ml/hr, and see a definite upward trend on her weight before sending her home. 87 ml/hr is the highest she's been so far - and she's at 85 right now - so the 100 will probably be a bit uncomfortable, but acid reducer meds should help control the vomiting. They're trying Tylenot for pain control, as well, although she really doesn't like having it "pushed" through her tube. Oh, well... you gotta' do what you gotta' do!
Thanks for praying! She still need lots of it as we try to get more calories in her & it gets even more uncomfortable!
Love you all!
Kay
