We learned on Friday that my Aunt Donna had surprisingly passed away. No warnings, just collapsed. I've not yet heard the results of the autopsy. Aunt Donna was married to my Uncle Bill, my Dad's brother. They live out in the country in Moss Hill, TX by my Mammaw & Pappaw. Uncle Bill and Aunt Donna had also just signed papers to adopt Donna's grandchildren as their own. The grandchildren, Chase(7) and Julia Grace (2) have been living with Uncle Bill & Aunt Donna since Grace was just a few months old. Their mom no longer has parental rights to the children and that's a good thing. It's been a long hard battle to get to this point of adoption, and now Donna's gone. Donna has had poor health for years and her Doctors always tried to encourage her to slow down. But, Donna was a "doer." She couldn't just let things not get done. She often helped Pappaw in taking care of Mammaw, was a mother to Chase & Julia, and a good wife to my Uncle Bill. She will be Greatly missed.
Donna crocheted a blanket for Micah just before he was born in August. She had all sorts of things to take care of in her own home, but found the time to sit and make his little blanket. I loved it the day we got it. Just knowing that she was thinking of us touched me.
We don't yet know if the kids will stay with Uncle Bill or go live with Donna's cousin in Tomball. I guess we'll find out more tomorrow. Tomorrow evening is the viewing and the funeral is Tuesday, followed by a celebration picnic. We should be back home Tuesday evening.
We also learned this weekend that my Dad's Uncle Rusty passed away. He had been in a coma for a few days and this was expected. Dad was close to Uncle Rusty and his children. Please pray for my Dad and his family as they deal with both of these losses. Pray for Jim, the kids and I that the Lord would use us as He wills while we're with our family these next few days.
Oh... and don't even ask how the potty training is going! ugh!

Lori,
I am so sorry! I remember meeting Aunt Donna when you and Jim and got married. I am praying for you and your family and especially for those precious children that Uncle Bill now has by himself.
Danielle
I'm sorry to hear of the grief your family is experiencing right now :-( I know y'all are strong in your faith and the Lord will carry you through, but I pray for peace for your whole family during this time of sadness. Love You girl!
