Potty Training

Yes, today has been our big kick-off party for Rebekah's potty training. We almost had her trained at one point. Then craziness came. We moved, had a baby, moved again, etc... So, now we're trying to make the deadline of being potty trained before she's three. Plus, she'd like to go to preschool, but can't until she's potty trained. So, there's even more incentive.
We have been talking it up all week, so she woke up today rather cheerful and was ready to toss her diaper and donn her new panties. This morning we gave her a dolly, which we named Polly, that wets and she and I taught Polly how to use the potty. Then, Rebekah practiced a few times. During one of her practices she achieved real success and was awarded a sticker! Woo-hoo! She did great all morning and insisted on taking a nap in her panties. I'm hoping she wakes up dry! Then we'll rush to the potty!
Tonight we're celebrating the momentous day with a Potty Party at Luby's with Grandpa & Grandma! I know, you're thinking that Luby's isn't what most kids have in mind for party time. But, I asked Rebekah and that's where she wanted to go. I'm sure if I had suggested Chuck-E-Cheese she would have gone for that. But I'm not going to mention it if she's not! So, we're headed off for macaroni and cheese, rolls, and red jello for our party. Plus, kids eat free on Weds. Woo-hoo!

Only 9 more days before we get to see each other!

Yay Rebekah! It'll be over before you know it! I was so much more laid back with Cait than I was with Benjamin.
You girls have fun next weekend. I so wish I could be there!

Ugh! We're gonna wait a little longer for potty training. A little someone is not quite ready!
