San Antonio Weekend

On May 5th we visited San Antonio and had a great time. We started with cousin Cassidy's pink poodle birthday party at Peter Piper Pizza. Great fun! My kids had never been to Peter Piper, so it was a blast.

It took Rebekah a little bit of time to warm up to the games, but when she got the hang of them, there weren't enough tokens to be had! Especially when she realized that prizes could be purchased with tickets. Here is a picture of the kids with their goods.

Then we headed down to the River Walk. I had forgotten all that San Antonio has to offer. We stopped at the Alamo first, of course.

The gardens all around it were beautiful and inspiring. I would love to have a backyard filled with flowers and native plants. If only I had a green thumb like my friend Melissa!

We took a ride on the River Boat and enjoyed all the neat things our tour guide shared with us. It was worth the money spent. The kids has so much fun! Of course, I didn't get a picture! Then we ate a lovely Mexican dinner at a restaurant on the River Walk. We opted to dine inside in order to shorten our wait by 30 minutes. The kids and Jim were pretending to attack each other while we waited for our table.

We enjoyed the atmosphere of San Antonio. It was a pleasant evening and we topped it off with a visit to Haagan Daz icecream by the Alamo. Just happens to be the only kind of icecream Jim can have. Worked out perfect! Then it was time to head home. The kids were exhausted, having missed their naps, and so were Jim and I. But, it was a great one day little vacation.

beautiful pics! it poured... literally poured buckets on us when we were at the Allamo last August. All 18 of us looked like we fell into a pool... completely drenched running from the Allamo (cuz they closed it and kicked everyone out) to our hotel across the street. So, no family photo of that visit. I am jealous.
