Today's MRI was oh so much better. Thank you, Lord! When we went in this morning, they said they'd like to do Elijah's MRI a little different from last time...no sedation. The MRI itself would only last 6 minutes, so we all decided to at least try it and see how he did. Elijah cried briefly when they inserted the IV needle, but quickly recovered. Then it was off to the MRI room. They swaddled him in a sheet on the table and then rested his head on a head-shaped cushion. The really great part was that he got to wear some nifty goggles that showed a movie! Where was all this last Monday??? They fitted some more cushion-like things around his head to help him stay still. He did great! Jim stayed in the room with him, while Micah & I stayed in the sedation room. When they came back to where I was, Elijah was smiling and laughing. He then told me about the big machine and the funny sounds it made. He told me he was like an astronaut in a spaceship. I think someone helped him come up with that idea since he barely knows what an astronaut is. After loading up on stickers and juice, we were able to leave. We arrived around 8:00am and left an hour later. What a blessing! We are so thankful to the Lord that today's experience was nothing like Monday's.
Our appointment with the Pediatric Neurologist has been moved to December 8th, so we'll know more after that appt. That seems like forever from now! Oh well, the Lord has the timing of that appt also in His hands, so we'll not worry. I keep telling myself that each day has enough worries on its own, I don't need to fret over what we don't yet know.
I'll post a picture of Elijah & Nurse Susie later.

I am so glad that this MRI was better! I can't imagine how much you must have been dreading it! I was praying for all of you.
Love you!
