We heard back from the Neurologist's office today about Elijah's MRIs. They both showed perfectly normal brain function and growth. Thank You, Lord! We will see the Dr. in early December for an office visit. We are starting Elijah on Keppra tomorrow for his seizures. They're labeled Minimal Local Seizures and are considered epileptic. Now, before you freak out about the term epileptic let me explain. If you've had more than one seizure, they are considered epileptic-that's it. From what I've read, because there was nothing unusual found in the MRI, then Elijah will most likely grow out of his seizures. Basically a seizure occurs when the electric pulses in the brain get in a traffic jam. That is a very crude illustration, but it works. We're trying to notice if he's overly tired, has missed a meal, is nervous or something like that when he has his seizures. The Keppra medicine will/should keep his seizures from going full blown. He'll be on it for one year, and then we'll reevaluate everything. So, that's today's diagnosis and we're thankful for it. We have quite a bit to be thankful for, this year especially!
