Update on Kaylee

Today is Day 13 that my neice Kaylee has been in the hospital. She is still vomitting, but not as frequently as before. In order for her SMA Syndrome to subside, she must put on more weight. The Dr.'s are trying to accomplish this with a feeding tube fed through her nose down to her duodenum. Currently she is only tolerating a feeding rate of 40 and they need her to be at 75 in order for her to actually gain weight. If this is not accomplished, they will need to increase her IV intake. The goal is to get her to 75 in the feeding tube so that she can go home and continue the feeding tube there until she gains the desired weight. The IV line is a little more risky to send her home with because of the increased potential for infection. Please pray that she will be able to tolerate the 75 feeding rate, which they will try to reach tomorrow. Also, please continue to pray for the mental fear that Kaylee battles constantly.

Friends are coming by to visit her during the daytime, so that helps keep her distracted to an extent, which is good. Her mom asked her what the Lord has been teaching her through all of this and Kaylee said that she has learned that God loves her so much and He has made people all over want to pray for her. So, from Kaylee and the rest of the family, thank you for your prayers. They are much needed and felt by Kaylee and the rest of the family.
