Help Christians in Orissa, India

I received this email that I wanted to share with all of you. Please, please contact your representatives and pray for this situation.

"Murder, Rape, Homes Burned, Churches Destroyed. Refugees. Fear. PRAYER!

These are just a few words that describe the desperate situation of Christians in Orissa, India. Although the American media has barely mentioned these events, they are very real, very terrifying, and ongoing since August. Read more, or watch the FOX 11 video coverage.

Our brothers and sisters need our help to bring international pressure upon the Indian government to stop the violence now!

A simple phone call could save lives by helping to quell the violence. Please call your U.S. Representative and ask him/her to co-sponsor House Concurrent Resolution 434 when Congress reconvenes. This resolution calls on the Indian government to stop the violence against Christians in Orissa.

Thank you for taking action!

Advocating with you,
Lindsay Vessey
Advocacy Program Manager"

Orissa is the state next to Andra Pradesh, where Jim and a man from our church were planning to go visit an orphanage that we all help support. Plans are on hold because no missionary visas are being given out at this time.
May the Lord use this suffering of our brothers and sisters for the spread of the Gospel!
