This past weekend we loaded up the van with just about everything imaginable and headed to Hunt, TX, for our church's annual retreat. Each year our entire church (those who are able and want to) packs up and heads to the River Inn Resort. They have waterfront condo's on the Guadalupe River. You can canoe, fish, swim (if you don't mind the cold), sit around and talk, and whatever else you can think of. One year Jim and I snorkeled the river with some friends. My favorite is at night when we all gather around the outdoor fireplace and sing hymns. People pull out their guitars and we all sing as people make requests. It's wonderful. And then, to cap off the night, Pastor sings "Ghost Rider" by Johnny Cash. Wonderful, wonderful time.
On our trip home, we went through Fredericksberg and decided to head on over to Enchanted Rock since it was still early in the afternoon. We hiked all the way to the top! Poor Jim, he carried Micah the entire way. The kids were quite excited about the view and that they were able to climb such a tall mountain. We explored the top and around the cave area, but opted to not go through the cave with a 5, 3, and 14 month old. We had so much fun that we've decided to try to go camping out there in Nov.
This is as far as we got into the cave.
Playing in a puddle at the top of the dome.
Aaahhh! Don't fall and roll down the mountain!
