It's been a week since Jim came home from the hospital after his emergency appendectomy. He's recovering wonderfully and is back at work today for at least a half day. Jim is such a social person, I think being at home all this time has been driving him bonkers. He cheerfully headed off to work this morning.
I participated in a huge consignment sale this past weekend at the Dell Diamond. It was quite fun and hopefully I made some good money selling some of our baby stuff that we no longer need. I really enjoyed being outside the whole time and greeting people. It was nice to be a part of something big and away from home. Usually when I am involved with something, it's like VBS or something where my kids are there and involved. But, no kids at this event! Not mine at least. Don't misunderstand me, I love my children and treasure the time I get to spend with them. But it is nice to have a part of your life that isn't centered around the children.
Rebekah and Elijah are spending a few days with my parents out at the lake. I found out that I have strep again and I think Micah has it too. We're headed to his Dr. in 30 minutes to find out for sure. Jim and I decided to let the big kids go to my parents so they don't get sick again. After Micah and I are no longer contagious, we'll bring Elijah and Rebekah home. Rebekah's birthday party is scheduled for this weekend. I really didn't want to risk her getting sick. We've already rescheduled her party once, after Jim's surgery.
Oh, I forgot to tell you! I went to work two days last week! Since Jim couldn't go into the office at Safequip, I went in his place to help out. It was fun to be around adults for a change of pace. I actually started and completed tasks within one day! That rarely happens at home. At home there are so many interruptions! I enjoyed working at Safequip but was pretty tired by the end of day 2. It's a different kind of work than what I'm used to. At home I move around and continually problem solve. At Safequip I was sitting at a desk most of the time answering phones and doing computer work. I enjoy both situations, so it worked out just fine.
Well, that's the update for now. Hope you're all doing well!
